Miha Štrukelj is a plural artist; he explores the nature of urban environments by relying on painting and drawing, and since a couple of years transforms them into three-dimensional installations. He integrates different elements in a visual ensemble, a spatial composition of which the spectator becomes an active element.
For this installation realized in the Pavilion of the Kayserguet villa, Miha was inspired by its architectural elements and in particular by its great windows. Starting from the reality of the place, he deploys on the walls an imposing composition of geometric shapes, playing with full and empty, and using various materials and a remarkable mastery of charcoal drawing.
The composition in Strasbourg leads to another urban reality, there are parallels between urban constructions in Europe, and in our case the Robertsau pavilion has its counterpart in a public park in Ljubljana.
